The Wedding of William and Jenny O’Brien at Gloria Palace Amadores
On a warm late summers afternoon William and Jenny from Cork in Ireland, were joined by their family and friends for a non-religious ceremony at Gloria Palace Amadores. The guests gathered on the Mirador with its amazing views and waited for the arrival of the Bridal Party. Jenny looked beautiful in her white Spanish style dress with embroidered lace, and accompanied by her father, a bridesmaid, page boy and a flower girl, made her way down the red carpeted aisle to meet William.
The ceremony was non-religious and was conducted by our celebrant and was written specifically with the couple in mind and was filled with love and romance and poetry. Making the ceremony very special and unique for the couple and their guest.
During the buffet style dinner the John Brogan Duo performed and after a short break they continued to perform much to the delight of all of the guests who were up and dancing on the roof terrace as the sun set and the terrace was illuminated and candles shone from the tables
Following the cutting of the wedding cake, the guests continued relaxing on the Mirador Terrace and watched the second part of the performance by the John Brogan duo.
The guests then made their way to the Salon Banquette which was illuminated by candles for the evening party and the bridal party made their entrance down the red carpet and into their first dance. The party they continued to 2am with DJ Sarah ensuring that everyone was up and dancing the night away to round off a perfect and memorable day.
Wednesday 14th October 2009 Gloria Palace Amadores
The Wedding of Michelle and Andrew
On a warm late summer afternoon, Michelle and Andrew were joined by 80 family and friends from Ireland for their wedding in Gran Canaria. The grooms party and guests assembled at Gloria Palace Amadores before travelling to the church in Playa del Ingles for the Catholic Church ceremony conducted by Father Jim.
The Bridal party left from Marina Suites and the bride wore a white low cut wedding dress with a small train and was accompanied by 3 bridesmaids in blue dresses and these were offset with bouquets of Ivory roses.
Following the ceremony in the church, the couple returned to Gloria Palace Amadores in a Silver BMW5 followed by the guests on the coaches and the photographs were taken in the gardens in front of the waterfall and flowering shrubs. The photographer was Mr.Mos who took lots of photographs to the couples specifications and some very special personal photos for the couple and their small daughter, Olivia.
The couple then joined their guests on the Mirador Terrace for a cocktail and canapé reception, and to enjoy the brilliant views across the sea with Tenerife as the backdrop.
Following the reception, the couple and their guests sat down for dinner on the Mirador Terrace which was laid out with dressed tables and chairs complimented by floral decor and napkins. Following the speeches the couple sat down to the 3 course meal accompanied by drinks. The wedding cake supplied by the hotel was 5 tiers.
The guests then moved to the Salon Banquette for a disco with DJ Sarah to round off their amazing wedding day.
Monday 12th October 2009 Amadores Beach Club
The Wedding of Martina Havern and Colm Costello with a Celebrity Guest from Ireland!!!
When someone has a dream, you have to turn that dream into reality. The team at GC Weddings did just that for Martina and Colm in true class and style to create a day of amazing memories.
On a very hot and sunny afternoon the guests gathered at Amadores Beach Club in preparation for the arrival of the Bridal party, for what was going to be a perfect and memorable day for everyone who had flown from Ireland and the UK.
Martina arrived at the Beach Club in a Silver BMW series 5 accompanied by her Sister, Michelle and we joined by her parents, in preparation for the ceremony. Martina wore an amazing off the shoulder dress made by the internationally renowned designer, Ian Stuart, with a train of white silk roses, the whole dress being made from raw silk. This was set off further by a corsage of white and ivory roses.
The bride entered the beach club to “the country churchyard” by Chris De Burgh and she walked down the decorated venue to see Colm's face, who was totally amazed by the stunning bride.
Throughout the ceremony, which was relaxed and informal, and very much enjoyed by the 90 guests, the couple included members of their family in the ceremony. As an interlude the couple choose a stunning and meaningful piece of music – It feels like home- and at the end of the ceremony – Love is in the air.
Following the ceremony, Cocktails were served on the terrace as the guests mingled with each other and also had photographs taken by Daniel, who comes from Ireland.
The best friend and school friend of the groom is Nicky Byrne of Westlife and he was at the wedding accompanied by his wife Georgina, who is the daughter of the former Irish Premier Bertie Ahern, and he gave a great speech describing their schooldays and friendship.
Entertainment was provided by an Irish Band and the guests were dancing and singing along to the songs for 90 minutes. Then the first surprise of the day came, when the mother of the bride along with 5 other family members took to the flow for a specially rehearsed dance routine which they had prepared and this was well received by everyone.
The guests then sat down for an 8 course buffet dinner accompanied by drinks, and the food was amazing and all the guests praised the chefs for the quality and quantity and also the staff for the outstanding service.
During the meal Spanish Guitarists and singers performed in the background
Following the speeches –which were very humorous, the couple and all the guests moved to the front of the Beach Club for another surprise –Fireworks! Martina and Colm pressed the button and the sky was illuminated for ten minutes with a fantastic pyrotechnic display that brought thunderous rounds of applause and cheers of appreciation from all of the guests.
The celebrations then continued with a DJ from one of the top clubs in Las Palmas hired especially for the occasion and the party continued into the early hours of the next morning.

The Wedding of Christine and Liz at Gloria Palace San Agustin
The wedding of Liz and Christine was going to be special and unique in many ways from the first time they contacted GC Weddings to organise everything for them.
The ceremony took place on the Chill out Terrace of Gloria Palace San Agustin, with the couple walking down the red carpeted aisle accompanied by their immediate family to be welcomed by their assembled guests from the Isle of Man and the UK who had come to the Island for this special and memorable day.
The Ceremony was non-religious but very meaningful and included words, poems and music chosen specifically by the couple.
Following the ceremony, the couple had some initial photographs taken on the chill out before Champagne and Canapés were served and the guests had time to chill out as Spanish Flamenco Dancers and Singers performed especially for the couple on the chill-out terrace for an hour, and involving some of the guests in their performance.
The couple and their guests then moved to the gardens of the hotel for more photographs with our photographer Hana before moving a few steps away to the Restaurant terrace, which had been laid out in magnificent style for the wedding reception.
Following the tremendous buffet dinner, Chloe Leigh Performed on stage for over an hour with her country show entwined with her Shania Twain songs –which had been chosen by the couple and Chloe also dedicated and sang the song for the couple’s first dance and they were then joined by the other guests dancing on the restaurant terrace.
Following the cutting of the heart shaped cake, and the Bridal toasts the guests were then transported to San Agustin Beach Club for the surprise part of the evening, whilst Christina and Liz were taken on a tour of Playa Del Ingles and San Agustin in a stretch Lincoln and reminisce on their fabulous day so far.
They then arrived to a standing ovation at San Agustin Beach Club, where all the guests were waiting the Salon Fiesta. Everyone then settled down to watch a two hour performance of a live show performed by Asa, Missie and Alison encompassing live songs and comedy to the enjoyment of everyone present and with the participation of the audience the cast received a tremendous ovation at the end of the show.
Liz and Christine then made a short speech to thanks everyone for coming to their special wedding day and also remembered all those family and friends who were unable to join them from the Isle of Man due to work commitments. They also thanked Paul and all at GC Weddings for a day beyond their wildest dreams and the total perfection and that they will be recommending him to all their friends in the UK
The evening then continued with singing and dancing with DJ Sarah until the early hours before the guests retired to their accommodation and the Bridal Couple returned to the Bridal Suite at Gloria Palace San Agustin, married and very happy.
Wednesday 7th October 2009 Gloria Palace Amadores
The Wedding of Edell McDermott and Jonny Dutton took place on a late summer’s afternoon in Gran Canaria attended by family and friends who had flown from Ireland to be part of their special and memorable day.
The day started with drinks in the reception of the hotel before the guests left for the church on their air conditioned bus, closely followed by the groom and groomsmen in a Black Stretch Limousine for the journey to the Templo Ecuménico in Playa Del Ingles.
The Bride, accompanied by her Father and 5 Bridesmaids left the hotel in a White Stretch Limousine ten minutes later and waved goodbye to the staff of the hotel as she also headed for the church.
The ceremony was conducted by Father James Nolan of the Catholic Church in Gran Canaria and took the form of a nuptial mass in the wonderful church building.
Following the 45 minute ceremony, the guests returned to the coach and made their way back to Gloria Palace accompanied by the wedding planners, Lee and Hayley, and were followed by the Bridesmaids in the White Limousine and the newlyweds returned in the Black Limousine as it had tinted windows!
On arrival at the hotel, the family photographs were taken in the gardens of the hotel by Mr Mos, Followed by an additional photo session with the couple only. During which the guests enjoyed post ceremony drinks in the hotel accompanied by the two other planners for the day- Mark and Sandy.
The guests then moved to the Restaurant terrace for champagne and canapé reception and the new Mr and Mrs Dutton were announced as they arrived on the red carpet to join their guests.
One of the Guests at the Wedding was the Irish Champion Boxer, Jim Rock aka The Panther.
Following the reception, the couple moved to the Salon Banquette which was fully dressed for the Dinner of Homemade Vegetable Soup followed by Fillet Steak and Vegetables accompanied by drinks. The cutting of the cake then followed the Speeches where GC Weddings were thanked for their outstanding work in ensuring the day went smoothly.
After a short interlude the guests settled down to watch the fabulous Vegas Jubilee show and everyone was up singing and dancing as the show continued for an hour of non-stop music.
The evening was rounded off with DJ Sarah who had the guests singing and dancing for 4 solid hours to round off a truly amazing and memorable wedding day for Edell and Jonny Dutton.

The wedding of Linda Byrne and Graham Cullinane at Gloria Palace Amadores.
On a warm late summer afternoon, Linda and Graham from Cork celebrated their wedding in Gran Canaria in style with a Catholic Church ceremony and then the most amazing celebration afterwards at Gloria Palace Amadores.
The Guests assembled at Gloria Palace Amadores for a pre-ceremony drink before leaving for the church on an air-conditioned coach followed by the Groom, Best Man and groomsmen who travelled in a Black Stretch Limousine to the Catholic Church in Playa del Ingles accompanied by Lee {Wedding Planner} in preparation for the ceremony.
The Bride and Bridesmaids were staying at Anfi and the bridesmaids left Anfi for the church in a BMW Series 5 and looked resplendent in their Aqua dresses. The Bride and her parents travelled in a White Stretch Limousine to the church with the bride wearing a beautiful off the shoulder dress with a stunning small train and a white rose hair piece.
On arrival at the church, some pre-wedding photos were taken before the ceremony was conducted by Father Jim and included many members of the family and also some amazing singers from Ireland.
Following the ceremony the family and friends photographs were taken outside the church before the guests returned to Gloria Palace Amadores for post wedding drinks and a time to relax. The Bridal party went to Anfi for photographs on the heart shaped island with Mr Mos before returning to Gloria Palace Amadores.
Champagne and canapés were served on the Mirador Restaurant Terrace before the couple and their guests sat down for a meal of Cajun Chicken followed by Steak in Red Wine Sauce accompanied by drinks.
During the meal the John Brogan Duo performed a variety of live music and songs much to the enjoyment of the guests who were seen singing along.
The traditional cake cutting ceremony was well received and the guests then spent some time chilling out on the terrace on a warm evening before moving to the Salon Banquette to continue their celebrations with DJ Sarah.

The Renewal of Civil Partnership Vows of James and Tony
James and Tony took the opportunity to renew their vows during their holiday in Gran Canaria on their 2nd Anniversary. The couple were from London and choose a romantic setting overlooking the famous dunes of Maspalomas. The ceremony was conducted by the Revd Paul Gibson and after the ceremony the couple went to a local Spanish restaurant for an intimate romantic meal.

The Spiritual Wedding of Tom and Audrey McCall at Hotel Puerto Mogan
Tom and Audrey chose a Spiritual ceremony to mark their marriage and commitment to each other on the roof terrace of Hotel Puerto Mogan on a warm summer’s afternoon overlooking the port of Mogan. The ceremony was conducted by Mark Burrows-the spiritual celebrant for GC Weddings and incorporated the act of commitment, exchange of vows and the ring ceremony. Audrey and Tom chose an Indian theme to their wedding and were traditionally dressed and the ceremony was enjoyed by their family and friends. Following the ceremony the couple and their guests enjoyed paella and a Canarian style BBQ on the roof terrace with a disco.

The Thanksgiving of Marriage Ceremony of Craig and Elizabeth on the heart shaped island at Anfi Del Mar.
The perfect setting of the heart shaped island at Anfi Del Mar, provided the location for a moving an intimate ceremony for Craig and Elizabeth, who celebrated their love for each other in front of the waterfall on the island. Elizabeth wore a stunning off the shoulder dress and carried a bouquet of red roses and Craig wore linen trousers and matching shirt. The ceremony was conducted by Revd Paul Gibson and encompassed both the traditional ceremony with modern words and a selection of poetry.
Following the ceremony the couple spent over an hour with the photographer before going for a romantic meal in Puerto Vista Restaurant at Anfi Del Mar to round off their special and romantic day.

The post wedding party of Pamela and Michael Doyle at Marina Suites
Following the resounding success of the wedding the day before, Pam and Michael were joined by all of their guests for an evening BBQ buffet reception at Marina Suites to bring their amazing celebrations to a close, in a romantic location with candles flickering as the sunset over the sea. All of the guests assembled in the atrium for the supper, the atrium being decorated for the occasion in white. During the meal there was entertainment by the resident Irish Singer for GC Weddings- John Brogan. After the guests had finished eating, they moved to the outside area, with some chilling out on the sea view chill out area, whilst others sat on the terrace.
John Brogan performed for the second half of the evening and had all the guests dancing and singing on the terrace to bring to a close a perfect evening with quality food and entertainment to round off two days of celebrations.

The Wedding of Pamela O’Neil and Michael Doyle at Gloria Palace Amadores
On a perfect September afternoon the guests left Gloria Palace Amadores in Air Conditioned Coaches and headed for the church in Playa Del Ingles. The groom’s party left in a BMW Series 5 and the Bride, Bridesmaids, Flower Girl and Father of the Bride travelled in a white stretch limousine. On arrival at the church, the assembled guests waited for the arrival of the bride who was just a few minutes late for the ceremony. The Catholic Ceremony was conducted by two priests from Ireland who had travelled with the family for the ceremony. Fr John Carroll and Fr John Sweetman presided over the entire ceremony which also involved many members of the bride and grooms family.
Following the ceremony, the couple returned to Gloria Palace Amadores for the photographs in front of the waterfall and in the gardens of the hotel before re-joining their guests for a champagne and canapé reception on the Mirador terrace of the hotel with its outstanding views. The couple and their guests then sat down for an amazing buffet dinner which was enjoyed by everyone present and was accompanied by copious amounts of wine and beer that was included in the package.
During the latter part of the dinner entertainment was provided by the John Brogan Duo before a pause for the blessing of the cake by Fr John and then the traditional cake cutting ceremony presided over by the Master of Ceremony- Paul Gibson. The second part of the entertainment on the terrace continued with the John Brogan Duo and everyone was up dancing and singing on a warm summers evening.
As the evening continued the guests moved to the Salon Banquette for 4 hours of music and dancing from DJ Sarah who had everyone up on the dance floor straight away as every guest continued the party into the early hours of the following day.
Thank You to Paul for all his hard work in creating a magical wedding day for us, not only has he delivered more than we could have ever wished for, he has also become more than just a planner, he is a true friend and we wish him continued success in the future. Mr and Mrs Michael Doyle
Monday 21st September 2009 The Wedding of Gary and Gemma at Amadores Beach Club
On a warm afternoon, the family gathered for pre-wedding drinks on the terrace of the beach club awaiting the arrival of Gemma and the bridal party, and watched the sun glistening across the calm sea. Gemma arrived in chauffeured driven silver BMW series 5 accompanied by her bridesmaid and flower girl and was met at the entrance of the beach club by Hayley from GC Weddings and the Revd Paul. Gemma looked stunning in her white lightweight dress with diamonds sewn into the straps of the dress and carried a bouquet of calla lilies.
The ceremony was conducted on the chill out terrace with the family gathered around them looking out to the sea. With one of the guests doing one of the chosen readings for the day and the couple then proceeded to exchange vows and rings and the declaration of marriage brought the quiet intimate ceremony to an end.
Champagne and strawberries were then served on the terrace before photographs were taken on the rocks behind the beach club, in the gardens and on the beach ending with photographs at sunset.
The couple and their guests then sat down in the restaurant for the meal from the al la carte menu to round off their special and memorable day. We wish Gemma and Gary all the very best in the future and a safe journey back to Ireland.
